Character Counts focuses on strengthening our student’s characters to help them become good citizens with strong values and healthy habits. It is open to Current and NON-Current students. We will choose one topic and give the kids a chart to complete. The prize will vary every month, from a jiu-jitsu game day to jiu-jitsu gear and everything in between. For November we have chosen “Discipline” .We will distribute (or please print) a chart to track their progress. The parent may also add ways to display discipline on the empty spots of the chart. Write an X on the appropriate row once the chore is completed. Kids must have at least 35 Xs to turn in their charts. This is supposed to be challenging for them! Charts are due by December 4th. |
Prizes– All kids who get at least 30 Xs will earn a CJJ prize (Belt Key Chain or Jiu-Jitsu wristband. T-shirt for teens). Please let us know if you have any questions. This program is open to all kids 5 to 15 years old. Regardless of whether they are currently enrolled or not. It is NOT mandatory. Thank you for letting us share this wonderful part of your child’s journey with them. As always, we are honored. If you would like to print out your own chart, here is the link to do so. |

*Both our BULLY-SAFE and MARTIAL ARTS summer camps were built to help children and teens deal with bullying, intimidation, peer pressure and other situations common to their age groups. The camp is also great to better their Jiu-Jitsu skills. All activities will include one of these
TOPICS:
- Responsibility and accountability when using Jiu-Jitsu.
- Recognizing a threat.
- Avoiding a potential threat by anticipating what could happen.
- Dealing with the threat when attacked verbally or physically.
- Distinguishing between when to use avoidance techniques, verbal techniques and when to use Jiu-Jitsu.
Kids will be spending a majority of the time learning and practicing Jiu-Jitsu which will also be a great way to sharpen their Jiu-Jitsu skills. This will make them more confident and more able to defend them-selves.
Classes taught during our Kids Bully Safe and Martial Arts Summer Camps offer instruction in the following topics:
- Jiu-Jitsu – Techniques
- Chess Lessons – Everyday
- Judo/Wrestling – Standing takedown techniques
- Self-Defense – Verbal and physical
- Defensive Striking Techniques – Martial Arts Campers only
- Peer Pressure – Think about your actions before acting
- Bullying Prevention – Preview a potential threat and how to deal with it
- Yoga – stretching, breathing, focusing and remaining calm
If you have a child age between the ages of 5 and 15 year old, then I urge you to get him or her involved in our Kids Bully-Safe and Martial Arts Summer Camps.
